Molecular Sieve

REPLEN ABSORBENT Type 3A
REPLEN ABSORBENT Type 3A, the potassium form of the Type A crystal structure, is an alkali metal alumino-silicate. Type 3A will absorb molecules with critical diameters up to 3 angstroms.

Applications :

Type 3A is the preferred Molecular Sieve absorbent for the commercial dehydration of unsaturated hydrocarbon streams such as cracked gas, propylene, butadiene and acetylene. It is also used for drying polar liquids such as ethanol.

The small pore size of Molecular Sieve Type 3A prevents co-absorption of hydrocarbons by excluding all other molecules while absorbing water.


REPLEN ABSORBENT Type 4A
REPLEN ABSORBENT Type 4A, the sodium form of the Type A crystal structure, is an alkali metal alumino-silicate. Type 4A will absorb molecules with critical diameters up to 4 angstroms.

Applications :
Type 4A is the preferred Molecular Sieve absorbent for static dehydration in a closed gas or liquid system. It is used as a static desiccant in household refrigeration systems, in packaging of drugs, electronic components, and perishable chemicals, and as a water scavenger in paint and plastic systems. Type 4A is also used commercially in drying saturated hydrocarbon streams.
All molecules which can be absorbed on Molecular Sieve Type 3A can be adsorbed on Molecular Sieve Type 4A.


REPLEN ABSORBENT Type 5A
REPLEN ABSORBENT Type 5A, the calcium form of the Type A crystal structure, is an alkali metal alumino-silicate. Type 5A will absorb molecules with critical diameters up to 5 angstroms.

Applications :
Type 5A Molecular Sieve absorbent is used to separate normal paraffin from branched hydrocarbon and cyclic hydrocarbons through a selective absorption process. Now it is largely used in the separation of normal paraffin and is paraffin. All molecules which can be absorbed on Molecular Sieve Type 3A and 4A can be absorbed on Molecular Sieve Type 5A.


REPLEN ABSORBENT Type 13X
REPLEN ABSORBENT Type 13X, the sodium form of the Type X crystal structure, is an alkali metal alumino-silicate. Type 13X will absorb molecules with critical diameters up to 10 angstroms.

Applications :
Type 13X is used commercially for general gas drying, air plant feed purification (simultaneous removal of H2O and CO2) and liquid hydrocarbon and natural gas sweetening (H2S and mercaptan removal).

All molecules which can be absorbed on Molecular Sieve Type 3A, 4A, and 5A can be adsorbed on Type 13X. In addition, Type 13X can absorb molecules of larger critical diameters, such as aromatics and branched-chain hydrocarbons.
